Thursday began with Nazareth village where everyone is in period costumes. Joseph is the carpenter/architect and Hannah is the yarn spinner. Avi, our guide, explained that the colors of the yarn determine the price. Light brown comes from onion skins so that’s cheap. The purple comes from the mollosks which take a lot to color. Hence the purple clothing of royalty.
