Which Way Do We Go part 2

So, how DO you follow that? You don’t. You don’t compare yourself to the previous leader. You don’t compare yourself to someone else and their calling. God uses us all in different ways and in different venues. We are not to question His timing or His choices. What if Joshua had not taken up the mantle and led the children ofIsraelinto the Promised Land. Moses was prohibited by God to enter. Ever thought about that? Joshua was the chosen man for that job. What if Moses had compared himself to Joshua? Joshua got to leadIsraelinto the Promised Land. But Moses was the one who had suffered with those people for 40 years, going in circles in the wilderness. Moses only got to look at this real estate, but he couldn’t enter. Not fair. Why did he have to suffer all this way, and then not be able to go in? God told him why. God reminded him of his disobedience. But the children ofIsraeldisobeyed WAY more than he did!! Yet, we know there is no partiality with God. But it seems to be favoritism here, doesn’t it? Not from God’s point of view. Moses sinned and this was his consequence. Fair? Yes. God is just and justifier, therefore, what He says is just, righteous and good. What about Joshua? His job, his purpose in life was different. Joshua was a man of war and he was good at it!! Joshua got to go into the Promised Land because only he and Caleb came back with a good report about this land God was giving them. Only he and Caleb got to go in out of all those people delivered out ofEgypt. Why? They believed God. Yet, they had to watch all those beloved people who did NOT believe, die in the wilderness over a period of 40 years. Again, doesn’t seem fair, does it? But we know our God. He is righteous and good. He is holy, therefore what He does is holy.

What about you? What purpose does He have for you? Is it different than “other people”? Yes. Is it better than “other people”? No. Just different, and perfect for you and God’s plan for you. So, rejoice!! God has entrusted this part in world history to YOU my friend. You have quite a responsibility when you look at it that way. Don’t complain, don’t envy. Just walk in obedience as the pillars of our faith did and more than that, as Christ our Savior did. Learn from them as “other people” learn from you.
